This is the last Will and Testament of me Ann
Jezeph of Frederick Street in the parish of Saint Pancras in the
County of Middlesex Spinster I direct that all my just debts and
funeral and testament
expences be full paid and satified. I give and bequeath unto
my niece Elizabeth Jezeph of No 6 Shoulderham Street Crawford
Street Marylebone in the said County of Middlesex Spinster the sum of
ten pounds I hereby nominate and appoint the said Elizabeth
Jezeph [Margin note: Original so] my
friend Robert Reeves of Frederick Street aforesaid Gentleman
and my sister Martha Hare wife of Joseph Hare of
Beaconsfield in the County of Bucks Shoemaker Executrixes and
Executor and trustees of this my will I give and bequeath unto my
said executrixs and executor and trustees all such sum and sums of
money in the Long annuities standing in my name in the books of the
Governor and Company of the Bank of England that I may be possessed
of or entitled to at the time of my decease upon trust with all
convenient speed after my decease to sell and dispose thereof and I
do hereby direct that my said executrixes and executor and trustees
and the survivors and survivor of them her or his executors admors or
assigns do and shall invest the produce of such sale after paying my
said debts funeral and testamentary expences and the said legacy in
their her or his own names or name in some or one of the other
Government Stocks or funds of Great Britain and do and shall stand
possessed of and interests therein upon the trusts hereinafter
mentioned and declared that is to say upon trust to permit and suffer
the said Martha Hare to have receive and take the dividends
interest or annual income thereof to and for her own absolute ++ use
and benefit for and during the term of her natural life from and
immediately after the decease of the said Martha Hare to pay
assign and transfer unto my niece Hannah Hare daughter of the
said Martha Hare one moiety or half part of the said principal
fund and unto my ++++ ++++ nephew William Hare and my niece
Ann Bagley wife of Thomas Bagley of Beaconsfield
aforesaid Labourer daughter of the said Martha Hare the other
moiety or half part thereof in equal parts shares and proportions
provided never the less that in +++ the event of the decease of
either of the the said Hannah Hare William Hare and
Ann Bagley in the lifetime of the said Martha Hare
leaving lawful issue which shall be living at the time of the decease
of the said Martha Hare then such issue shall have and or
entitled to the share or proportion of the said principal fund which
its deceased parent would have become entitled to had they been then
living and I do hereby direct and declare that the dividends interest
and annual income herein before given to the said Martha Hare
shall not be subject to the debts control or engagements of her
present or any future husband she may happen to marry and that her
receipt alone shall from time to time be good and effectual
discharges for the same I give and bequeath unto my nephew James
Jezeph son of my late brother Thomas Jezeph deceased the
share that I have in the Hope Assurance Company with all benefit and
advantage to be had or made thereof and as to all the rest residue
& remainder of my estate and effects I give and bequeath the same
unto the said Martha Hare and I do hereby declare my mind and
will to be that my said executrixes and executor and trustees shall
not be answerable or accountable for any act that may happen to the
said trust Funds monies and promises by the failure or default of any
banker broker or other person in whose hands the same or any part
thereof may be entrusted for safe custody or in the execution of the
trusts hereby in them reposes nor for any other loss that may happen
thereto so as that the same or not through their receipt neglect or
default of the others or other of them other of them or the acts
receipts neglects or defaults of the others or other of them but each
for her and his own acts receipts neglects and defaults only and I do
thereby authorize and empower my said executrixes and executor and
trustees to retain to and reimburse themselves and to pay to her or
his Cotrustees or Cotrustee expenses as they he or she may suffer or
be put unto in or about the execution of all or any of the trusts
aforsaid and I do hereby further declare my mind and soul to be that
in the event of the decease of either of them the said
Elizabeth Jezeph [Margin note:

Robert Reeves before the said trusts shall shall have been
fully performed and Granted or if either of them shall refuse or
decline or become incapable of acting therein then that another
trustee shall with all convenient speed be nominated and appointed in
her or his room or stead by the surviving or continuing trustees
which trustee shall have and execute all the same or the life powers
as through he has been originally named all executor and trustee of
this my will and hereby revoking all former and other wills by me at
any time heretofore made I do declare this only to be my last will
and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this eleventh day of February in the year of our lord one thousand

This is a Codicil to the foregoing will of me
Ann Jezeph I give and bequeath unto Robert Reeves an
executor named and appointed in and by my said will the sum of five
pounds Dated this eleventh day of February one thousand eight hundred
and thirty Ann Jezeph ,----, Signed by the said Ann

This is a Codicil to the foregoing will of me
Ann Jezeph instead of Elizabeth Jezeph I do nominate
and appoint my nephew Thomas Bagley Labourer of Beaconsfield
in the County of Bucks and my friend Mary Williams Servant to
Lady Sykes of 21 St James Place in the County of Middlesex my
executors I give and bequeath to my friend Mary Williams five
pounds dated this day of Twenty third of December one thousand eight

Middlesex Gentleman Mary Reeves wife of the said Robert
Reeves Martha Latus of No 12 Great James Street Bedford
Row in the same County Spinster Thomas Bagley of Beaconsfield
in the County of Buckinghamshire Labourer and Mary Williams of
No 21 Saint James's Place in the County of Middlesex Spinster and
jointly and severally made Oath first the said Mary Reeves for
herself made Oath that she knew and was intimately acquainted with
Ann Jezeph formerly Servant to Mrs
Barnsley of Featherstone Street City Road but late of Frederick
Street in the Parish of Saint Pancras in the County of Middlesex
Spinster dece'd for many years before and down to the time of her
death she the dece'd having resided in the House of this deponent and
her husband for about eleven years before and down to the time of her
death and the deponent having now viewed and inspected the paper
writings hereto annexed which purport to be and contain the last will
and testament of the said dece'd which said will begins thus "This is
the last Will and Testament of me Ann Jezeph ends thus "this
eleventh day of February in the year of our lord one thousand eight
hundred and thirty" and is thus subscribed "Ann Jezeph" and
which said Codicil thereto written at the foot of the said will and
begins thus "This is a Codicil to the forgoing will" ends thus "dated
this eleventh day of February one thousand eight eight hundred and
thirty" and is thus subscribed "Ann Jezeph" and the deponent
having also viewed and inspected the further paper writing which is
also hereto annexed and is now marked with the letter A and begins
thus "This is a Codicil to the foregoing will" ends thus "dated this
day of Twenty third of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty
five Signed by the said Ann Jezeph" and is thus subscribed
"Ann Jezeph" she for herself further made Oath that she the
deponent having been alone with
the said dece'd at the house of this deponent situate in Frederick
Street aforesaid on the said twenty third day of December last she
the dece'd then and there produced to this depondent her aforesaid
will and Codicil now hereto annexed and informed this depondent that
it was her wish to have the legacy of ten pounds which she had by her
said will bequeathed to her niece Elizabeth Jezeph and the
appointment therein of the said niece as an executrix of her said
will struck out there from and that she wished to have a Codicil made
to her said will whereby she would appoint her nephew Thomas
Bagley and her friend Mary Williams Spinster persons
respectively known to this deponent executors in the stead of the
said Elizabeth Jezeph and would give the said Mary
Williams a legacy of five pounds and that the dece'd then desired
this deponent to request her husband and fellow deponent Robert
Reeves one of the executors named in the said will (who was at
such time at Heckfield Place near Hartford Bridge in the County of
Southampton and to which place this this deponent as the dece'd well
knew was then about to proceed to join her husband) to make such
alterations in her said will and to prepare such proposed Codicil for
her and that she the dece'd then in the presence of this deponent
signed her name at the bottom of the said paper now marked with the
letter A as aforesaid which was as such time in other respects a
blank half sheet of paper and desired this deponent to request her
said husband to draw or write the said proposed Codicil thereon above
the said signiture of the said dece'd and the said Robert
Reeves having ++ now also carefully viewed and inspected the
aforesaid will and Codicil of the said dece'd and also the aforesaid
paper writing now marked with with the letter A for himself made Oath
and the said Mary Reeves for herself further made Oath that
she the said Mary Reeves having proceeded from London to
Heckfield Place aforesaid and having there joined her said husband on
a day happening in the said month of December last but on what day
they are at that time unable particularly to depose save it was after
the said twenty third day of the month the said Mary Reeves
then and there produces to the said Robert Reeves the
aforesaid will and Codicil of the said dece'd and also the said paper
writing here marked with the letter A which containes at such time
only the aforesaid signature of the said dece'd and informed her said
husband that she had received the said papers from the said dece'd
and relates to him the wishes of the said dece'd in respect thereto
as by the said Mary Reeves therein before set forth and that
he the said Robert Reeves thereupon without due consideration
or reflection and without any further communication with or
authority from the said dece'd (as this deponent Robert Reeves
deposed and as the deponent Mary Reeves believes) did with a
pen strike out of the said will the name and words "I give and
bequeath unto my niece Elizabeth Jezeph of No 6 Shoulderham
Street Crawford Street Marylebone in the said county of Middlesex
Spinster the sum of ten pounds I thereby nominate and appoint the
said Elizabeth Jezeph" in the fith sixth and seventh and in
parts of the fourth and eighth lines from the top of the first paper
or side of the said will and also the name Elizabeth Jezeph in
the thirty first line from the top of the second page or side of the
said will as the same now respectively appear therein but the said
Robert Reeves for himself made Oath that the said words "I
hereby nominate and appoint" were at such time struck out by him
inadvertently and undesignedly and the said Robert Reeves and
Mary Reeves for themselves further made oath that the said
Robert Reeves did then also in the presence of the said
Mary Reeves without due consideration and reflection and
without any further Communication with or authority from the said
dece'd (as the said Robert Reeves deposed and as she the said
Mary Reeves believes) proceed to draw up and write and marked
A as aforesaid the writing or proposed Codicil beginning and ending
as herein before writes and now appearing thereon above the aforesaid
Signature "Ann Jezeph" previously written upon the same as
aforesaid and that as dated the ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ same on the said
twenty third day of the said month of December from being then
informed by the said Mary Reeves that the said dece'd had
signed
the said paper on such day and that after he the said Robert
Reeves had so drawn up and written the same he added thereto the
words "Witness" and that she the said Mary Reeves did then
without due consideration and reflection sign her name thereto as a
witness to the same in manner as now appears thereon and that neither
of these deponents did at any time after the said will has been so
altered and the said paper writing marked A has been so drawn up and
written see or converse or hold any Communication whatever with the
dece'd and the said Robert Reeves for himself further made
oath that said paper writing marked with the letter A was afterwards
attached by him to the aforesaid will and Codicil of the said dece'd
with sealing wax but that the same hath been since torn therefrom and
that the whole of the said paper writings remained from such time in
the Custody of him the deponent until after the said dece'd death and
the said Martha Latus for herself made Oath that she knew and
was well acquainted with the said dece'd for many years before and
down to the time of her death and that having during such her
acquaintance with the said dece'd frequently seen her ++++ subscribe
her name to writings she hath thereby become well acquainted with her
manner and character of her signature and subscription and she said
that the said dece'd was in the frequent habit of getting this
deponent to write letters and papers for her and of herself merely
signing such letters and papers and she believes that she was unable
to write any thing beyond the making her said signature and the said
deponent having now viewed and inspected the aforesaid will and
Codicil of the said dece'd respectively beginning ending and
subscribed as herein before recited and respectively bearing date the
eleventh day of February one thousand eight hundred and thirty and
having particularly noticed and observed the said recited signatures
or subscriptions "Ann Jezeph" appearing to the said will and
Codicil respectively she for herself further made Oath that she
verily and in her Conscience believes the said recited signitures or
subscriptions to the said will and Codicil to be of the proper
handwriting and subscription of the said dece'd and she further made
Oath that upon an occasion happening within about twelve months
before the death of the said dece'd but at what time more
particularly she is unable to set forth she the deponent being alone
with the said with the said dece'd the said dece'd in the course of
conversation mentioned to the deponent that she did not know what was
become of her niece the aforesaid Elizabeth Jezeph and that
she thought of altering her will by crossing or striking out the name
of the said Elizabeth Jezeph therefrom who she said was an
executrix named therein and of appointing in her stead her nephew
Thomas Bagley and her friend Mary Williams or to such
very effect and the same Thomas Bagley for himself made Oath
that he is the nephew of the dece'd and that near or about the latter
end of August or beginning of September now last past the said dece'd
being on a visit at Beaconsfield where this deponent resides and
having cause to see this deponent she told +++ this deponent that she
thought of making a little alteration in her will and requests him to
allow her to name him as an executor of the same to which this
deponent assented but that she the said dece'd did ++ not then or at
any of her time mention more particularly what were her intentions as
to such alteration in the said will and the said Mary Williams
for herself made Oath that about twelve months before the death of
the said dece'd she the deponent accompanied her to make enquiries
after the said Elizabeth Jezeph her niece but that they were
unable to ascertain what has become of her that the said dece'd upon
several occasions mentions to this deponent her inability to learn
any tidings of her said niece and upon one occasion in particular
happening about six months before the death of the said dece'd she
expresses to her this deponent a wish to have her will altered as she
did not known what has become of her said niece and to have the name
of the said Elizabeth Jezeph struck out of the same and that
she should like to appoint her the deponent and her nephew Thomas
Bagley executors of her said will in the stead of the said
Elizabeth Jezeph who she informed the deponent was an
executrix named therein but that she the dece'd did not at such time
mention ++ to the deponent any intention as to leaving any legacy to
her this deponent and the said Robert Reeves for himself
lastly made Oath that he hath made diligent enquiries but hath not
been able to ascertain
that the said dece'd made any of her declarations to any persons as
to her intention of altering her said will save as herein before
deposed and that he hath since the death of the said dece'd made
diligent search amongst her papers and in all her depositories but
that no other will or testamentary paper of the said dece'd hath come
to the hands possession or knowledge of this deponent save the
aforesaid paper writing now hereto annexed. Robert Reeves

also duly sworn to the truth of the aforegoing affidavit by virtue of

++ to whom admon was granted having been first Sworn duly to
admr power reserved of making the like Grant to Mary
Williams Spinster the other ex'or named in the second Codicil
when she shall apply for the same, Elizabeth Jezeph Spinst the
niece of the dece'd the said person whose interest is prejudiced by
Certain obliterations in the will having first caused as by acts of
dissappearances
